Hadaka No Osama:
Although this song was written before their debut, and it posesses the same floating feeling and folk mentality that their previous single did. It sounds like a simple country/folk tune at first, but a when the full range of percussion (drums, bongo, cajon, snare rolls and bongo rolls) kicks in, the subtle rhythm begins to change the course of the song.. It is an extremely sophisticated song that listeners never seem to get bored of. Also, toward the end of the song each sound represents a distinct mood and this diversity makes one forget the fact that the song is over 6 minute long.
This is a love song:
This song is an answer song to gThis is not a love songh from Neil&Iraizafs second album gNEW SCHOOLh. The supporting keyboard/guitar player for LOVE PSYCHEDELICO, Hirohisa Horie also plays piano on this song. The vocal key repeatedly shifts between high and low and the well- blended backing vocals help create a very pop and comfortable sound.
GRAPEFRUITS:
The guitar riff maintains the medium tempo and Kumi keeps shouting the phrase. It sounds like this might be a a typical rock song, but its simple composition actually makes it a pop song It really has something special and has become one of DELICOfs more appealing songs.
Following the release of their second albumh LOVE PSYCHEDELICO ORCHESTRAh, LOVE PSYCHEDELICO created its own musical world during their national tour gcircle of mindh . As the saying goes, gonce one journey ends, another beginsh and with the singe gHadaka No Osamah, LOVE PSYCHEDELICO were about to enter a new world.
One may want to question why this would be considered a gnew
worldh when one realizes that the was originaly written before their debut
and had been performed numerous times at their shows. However what one should
take note of is the fact that LOVE PSYCHEDELICO displayed their admiration
and irony towards the rock world before they thesemlves were rock giants, seemingly
predicting the situation around them before they had a chance to experience
it. . In other words, fate, I believe, intervened in gHadaka No Osamah being
released as single when it was.
As for the lyrics, there is no good definition, but the opening of the song
with its acoustic guitar and percussion reminds one of a blend of 60fs folk
music and Beat culture (a youth culture represented by the novel gOn the Roadh
by Jack Kerouac). Here we can feel the the DELICO spirit and the synchronicity
that exists intheir world.
In 2002, they are looking straight towards to the future. The percussion part of this song sounds simple but in actuality, they dubbed the part five times, and this really represents their contemporary talent which is often valued as being very technical. The remaining two songs were written after the gcircle of mindh tour and are very new and fresh in approach. One of these songs gThis is a love songh is drawn from Neil&Iraizafs gThis is not a love songh and it elaborates on the tendencies of the Brit-popstyle. gGrapefruitsh, while shares a title with a book by Yoko Ono,, has impressive lyric phrasings with an interesting vocal style, that can neither be described as shouting or rap.. The style of this song is quite original and LOVE PSYCHEDELICO seem to take a new approach to their music. Also noteworthy is that LOVE PSYCEDELICO creates a character named gRosalitah and this character helps them to develop their new lyrical world. I believe this development is something that will influence their future work, to a point where it would not be too far out of place to say that LOVE PSYCHEDELICO is GRAPEFRUITS. That is to say, they share something in common with the world symbolized by Yoko Onofs gGrapefruitsh. Based on this kind ofinterpretation, I believe these three songs are quite meaningful. The cover art t of their debut single gLADY MADONNA/Yuutsu Naru Spiderh features an apple which is also the name of the label founded by The Beatles. Thus from apple to grapefruits, we may be able to say that they bear new fruit with the magic of music.
