It has been two years and two months after LOVE PSYCHEDELICO released their second album “LOVE PSYCHEDELIC ORCHESTRA”. They have now retuned to their starting point and finally released their third album “LOVE PSYCHEDELICO III”. They seemed very positive and energetic when we had an interview with Kumi and Naoki in the beginning of 2004, thus I did feel they would do something special this year.

They played at the “Zoku Naniwa Sullivan Show” in February andperformed at the “Rock Odyssey” in July held in Yokohama and Osaka with a newly formed backing band (the members are Susumu Osada and Takamune Negishi from DR. STRANGE LOVE, Yuko Araki, a drummer from CORNELIUS and keyboardist Hirohisa Horie). At the same time, they were rehearsing with another backing band formed with Key Takakuwa and Kenichi Shirane from GREAT 3, Tomohiko Gondo from SKETCH SHOW and keyboardist Hirohisa Horie ) for their upcoming tour starting in October. Although they were quite active, recording a new album or single still was a very different story. As they are so focused on creating their own sound, they never set a release date so that they can record in an environment that will allow them to be completely satisfied with their work. . Therefore, without a fixed release date, there is always the possibility that new material may never never be released, depending on how well things are going in the studio. However, they did finish this one and that is why we have the new single “fantastic world”. They took approximately a month to write the title song, and recorded it during their shows and rehearsals. They seemed to be relaxed and this, as well as their desire, seems to come through. I believe that they were seeking to express “love” through a combination of the “messages” from their second album and the the creative pop taste from their third album. A bitter reality and sweet dream-like state simultaneously exist to help express a more broader human love, while the song “romance” is more about personal love. It was a challenge for themto blend the two factors, and finish the songs, even though it was the first tine they had worked under such a tight schedule. . The title song, as always, very detailed and veryspectacular. The guitar riff in the beginning stops and you hear Kumi’s vocal come in with an acoustic guitar sound. The music creates a sensation of changes in color and temperature. There is another song which is a sad love story with a very simple song style. You may have different impression for each song, but that is how I seem them. This is a work of harmony and balance for LOVE PSYCHEDELICO I am not sure that Columbus really said that the earth is spherical, but this single is spherical and its circular pop style is something that can translate universally.
